Decision matrix

Langdock app decision matrix
Overview

Langdock bundles chat, agents, reusable "Skills", integrations and no-code workflows into one team workspace, with SSO and governance for larger organisations. Pick it when a whole team needs one managed, admin-controlled AI surface. Business seats start at €25/user/month; workflow runs and API tokens are billed separately.

Other good fits
  • Turning a repeated task, like drafting meeting action items, into a reusable Skill the whole team can apply.
Pros
Read pros

Langdock is a team AI workspace built around Chat, Agents, an API, Integrations, no-code Workflows, a shared Library and reusable "Skills" (saved instruction sets you can apply across chats, agents and projects). It's aimed at giving a whole organisation one managed, admin-controlled surface instead of everyone using separate personal chatbot accounts.

Pick it when…

  • Your team needs one workspace with SSO/SCIM and admin controls instead of individual sign-ups.
  • You want to turn a repeated task into a reusable Skill or Agent that colleagues can apply consistently.
  • You need no-code Workflows that trigger on a schedule or event, not just a chat window.
Cons
Read cons

A shared workspace doesn't make generated output more reliable, and it doesn't decide for you which company knowledge should be connected to it; a badly scoped Skill or an overly broad integration gets amplified across the whole team instead of contained to one person's mistake. The published docs describe product areas, not any specific workspace's enabled integrations, retention settings or regional commitments, so check those in your own contract and admin settings rather than assuming defaults.

Pick something else when…

  • You only need one narrow model integration. Going directly to that model provider is simpler and usually cheaper than a full team workspace.
  • You want a free, self-hosted, open-source workflow canvas. Langflow gives you that, at the cost of running it yourself.
  • The job is event-driven automation between apps, not an AI chat workspace. n8n is built specifically for that, with clearer per-run pricing.

Avoid if

  • You want a self-hosted, open-source workflow canvas rather than a paid managed workspace.
Workflow

Select a permitted model → give it a task → apply a reviewed Skill or Agent → read the response → decide whether it's ready to fold into a shared, repeatable workflow. A workspace admin still decides who can access which data sources and what output needs sign-off before it's trusted.

Running effort scales with team size: someone needs to own the admin console, decide integration access, and periodically review which Skills and Agents are actually trusted for real (not made-up) data.

Restrictions

Enabled integrations, model choice, export rights, retention settings and regional commitments all depend on your specific contract and admin configuration. Treat anything not confirmed in your own agreement and settings as unverified.

Build one reusable Skill for meeting notes.

  1. Create a Skill with instructions: "Turn these meeting notes into an action list. For each item, give the action and an owner if stated; mark the owner 'unknown' if it isn't."
  2. Run it on a fictional set of meeting notes only, not real minutes with anyone's real commitments.
  3. Check that every action item traces back to something actually in the notes, and that missing owners are marked unknown rather than guessed.
  4. Share the Skill with one colleague and ask them to try it on a different fictional example.

Done when two different runs both produce action lists with no invented owners or commitments, and a colleague can reuse the Skill without your help.

Alternatives and trade-offs

  • n8n wins when the actual need is event-driven automation between apps rather than a chat-first AI workspace.
  • Langflow wins when you want a self-hosted, open-source visual canvas instead of a paid managed workspace.
  • Onyx wins when you want an open-source alternative for team knowledge search and chat that you can self-host.
