Mammouth AI app decision matrix
Overview

Mammouth AI is a French, paid cloud workspace that puts several providers' text and image models (Claude, GPT, Gemini, Mistral and others) behind one subscription, with one-click reprompting to send the same message to a different model. Pick it to compare models without juggling separate subscriptions. Usage is metered with automatic fallback to lighter models, and Mammouth itself retains conversation history even though it claims no model training.

Other good fits
  • Combining document questions, web search and occasional image generation in one hosted workspace.
Pros

Mammouth AI is a paid cloud app from French company Mammouth AI SAS. Its distinguishing feature is one-click reprompting: send the same message to a different model without leaving the chat or switching subscriptions. It also offers projects, file uploads, web search, voice chat, and image and video generation, all behind one login. Access to a provider's underlying model doesn't mean you get every feature of that provider's own app.

Cons
Read cons

Model fallback under load makes repeated model comparisons less controlled, since you can't always be sure which underlying model actually answered. Mammouth's privacy explanation claims no model training and says providers don't retain prompts beyond 30 days, but Mammouth itself keeps conversation history, with up to 30 rolling days of retention after you delete something (for abuse detection) and longer retention for account, security, payment and support records; it describes EEA storage with possible safeguarded transfers outside the EEA. These are the vendor's own statements, not an independent audit, so treat French incorporation as a data-protection framework, not a guarantee that every request stays in Europe.

Pick something else when…

  • Your decision is really about one provider's own app and its native features. ChatGPT or Claude give you that provider's full app, not just model access through a third party.
  • Offline operation is the deciding requirement. Jan with a downloaded local model shifts model choice and hardware to you, but keeps everything off the network.
  • You need a fixed, predictable number of requests rather than a metered, fallback-prone quota. Check a single provider's own plan instead of a multi-provider aggregator.

Avoid if

  • You need sustained, unthrottled access to one specific high-end model without a fallback to a lighter one under load.
Workflow

Write a brief with clear, fixed facts → send it to one model → use reprompting to send the identical brief to a second model → compare both outputs against a checklist of what must be preserved → pick and edit the better draft yourself. Two models producing similar answers isn't independent verification of correctness.

PlanPrice (incl. VAT)UsageNotes
Starter€12/monthBase allowance€2 in API credits
Standard€24/month3x Starter€4 in API credits
Expert€72/month10x Starter€10 in API credits

All plans access the same model list (Claude, GPT, Llama, Grok, Mistral, Gemini, DeepSeek, Qwen, Kimi); usage allowance is the main difference between tiers. There's no free tier. Sessions run in three-hour windows, and consumption depends on the model, input/response length, attached documents and tools used; hitting a model's threshold triggers automatic fallback to a lighter model, so treat this as a usage budget rather than unlimited access to your preferred model. Uploads are capped at 20 files and 100 MB combined per conversation, 4 million document characters per request, and 50 pages/20 MB for scanned-PDF image processing.

Restrictions

Upload limits (20 files/100 MB per conversation, 4M document characters per request, 50-page/20 MB scanned PDFs) apply regardless of plan; a permitted upload size doesn't guarantee reliable understanding of every page. Retention and transfer terms are the vendor's stated policy, not something independently verified here.

Draft an invitation for a made-up community workshop.

  1. Write a brief with fixed facts only: Saturday, 10:00-12:00, library meeting room, twelve places, bring one small broken household item; mark price and booking details as undecided.
  2. Ask one model for a 100-word invitation and a five-item organiser checklist, instructing it to preserve every fact and mark anything undecided rather than invent it.
  3. Use reprompting to send the identical brief to a second model.
  4. Compare both against your checklist: correct time, location and capacity; no invented price or link; unknowns clearly marked.

Done when you have one draft where every fact from your brief survives, nothing was invented, and you've noted which model produced it.

Further review notes & alternatives

Alternatives and trade-offs

  • ChatGPT wins when your decision centers on OpenAI's own app and a specific native workflow, not just model access.
  • Claude wins when you want Anthropic's own app directly and don't need a multi-provider subscription.
  • Jan wins when offline execution with a local model matters more than access to several hosted providers.
