Fix errors fast: Send to Cascade & Explain-and-Fix

LESSONLesson 3 · ~20 min

🎯Goal. Turn an error into a fix without leaving the editor — push a whole panel of problems to Cascade, or fix one error inline.

  1. 1When something breaks, open the editor's Problems panel. Use Send to Cascade to hand the listed issues straight into the agent conversation — Cascade reads them in context and proposes fixes across the relevant files.
  2. 2For a single error, hover or select it in the editor and choose Explain and Fix (⇧⌘.). Cascade explains what went wrong and offers a fix right there, without you describing the error yourself.
  3. 3Review the proposed change, accept it, and re-run. Use Send to Cascade when many problems are related, and Explain and Fix for one stubborn error.

Explain and Fix: select an error in the editor and Cascade explains what went wrong and proposes a fix right there — no need to copy the message out. Source: https://docs.devin.ai/desktop/cascade/cascade

You'll see. Errors from the Problems panel flowing into Cascade, and single errors explained and fixed inline — fixes you review before accepting.

💳Cost. Reading and explaining errors happens inside a normal Cascade task, so it draws on your agent quota like any other task; the Free plan covers light use.

💡Takeaway. You never have to copy an error message out of the editor — send the Problems panel to Cascade, or Explain-and-Fix a single error in place.
